We’ve talked in the past about the importance of creating interesting and funny email campaigns (whenever possible, of course).
We saw this in several other articles, with different ideas for your email campaigns.
In today’s article we will see how to create a newsletter with a small and interesting game, thus creating a more fun and effective email campaign.
But before we start …
Why should you send an email campaign based on a game?
Today, online games are extremely popular and generate a very interesting income for the companies that produce them. In addition, more and more companies are using games to promote products and / or services, in order to attract more customers and generate more sales.
Ultimately, these mini-games are versions of classic promotions (discounts, giveaways, coupons, etc.), but sent to the customer in a more interactive and attractive format.
Who never became interested in one of those images that are shared on Facebook “find the difference” or “discover the hidden element” even though you would not win any gift? all of us like to play a little game from time to time.
We can also use this technique to work with email campaigns, with a little imagination, the possibilities are many, in this article we offer an example, so that you can create a small game.
The game is very simple, it is made up of several identical elements, one (or some) of them will contain a prize, others may have nothing or just offer a consolation prize, the user just need to pick one to see what he will win.
How to do this for email campaigns? Very simple, just use an image(it can be a chest, an envelope, a door, etc. ) This image will have a link, this link can lead to a page with the prize, which can be a coupon, the opportunity to participate in a draw; or simply a message like “continue participating “.
This image will be repeated several times and it can contain a different link for each time the image is displayed, making sure that the biggest prize is only in some, or only one of these links. In this example we are using the image of a treasure chest:
Of course, the participant will not have just one opportunity, because he can click on each of the chests to find the highest prizes, and you can benefit from it in many ways.
As I mentioned earlier, some links may lead to a page on your website with a message like “Sorry, this pot is empty. Don’t be discouraged, you can keep trying!” .
You could include links to invite the user to browse the website, access the user registration form or visit the most popular products, and generate traffic to your website.
Some chests could have a link to your Facebook page with the same message, but this time inviting the user to like your fanpage.
Thus, you will be generating likes on your Facebook page, traffic to your website, plus you get more exposure for your products.
Even after finding the grand prize, the participant may decide to open the rest of the chests in search of other gifts or offers.
As I mentioned, in this example we are using chests, but you can use another image for your email campaign, as a gift box, an envelope or a box of items like the classic Mario game!
The possibilities are endless.

Finally, we will leave you a gift, a sample template so that you can test this game, you will be able to edit the template according to your needs, and to send more personalized email campaigns.
